How to Plan and Start a Wedding Beauty Routine

Between all the excitement, nerves, joy, and stress that comes with planning a wedding, there’s no better time than the present than to kick-start your pre-wedding beauty routine. Not only will these tips help you look your best on your big day, but they’ll also help you feel your best, both physically and mentally.

From investing in the right skincare products, learning how to repair damaged hair, and prioritizing “you” time, here are some things to keep in mind when starting a wedding beauty routine:

First thing’s first: It’s time to up your skincare game. The most important thing for natural glam is starting with your skin. If you don’t already have a skincare routine, we’re happy to help personally guide you during this time. Rest assured, it will all be worth it when you’re walking down the aisle on your big day.

Skin

The basic skincare steps include: cleanse, moisturize, sunblock (in the mornings). At night, be sure to lather up on the moisturizer, including a lip mask, so that your skin gets the hydration it needs while you’re getting your beauty sleep. Take your skincare one step further with weekly or bi-weekly chemical exfoliation and face masks and regular visits to your Esthetician to give you that sought-after pre-wedding glow! Remember, find the products that work with your individual skin type and that give you the best results.

Hair

For Brides-to-be, if you’re struggling with dry hair or split ends, there is an endless list of remedies that can help you leading up to your wedding. For starters, go to the salon for regular trims, avoid heat and coloring as much as possible, and try not to wash your hair too often. You may also want to try some hair masks or deep conditioners, such as Olaplex.

As for grooms, you can easily give your hair a fuller appearance by using a top-notch thickening shampoo, washing your hair less, and experimenting with different styles. Speaking of which, be sure to give yourself plenty of time before your wedding to find the perfect hairstyle and trim for you. Maybe even treat you and your groomsmen to a barber experience the morning of your wedding.

Well-being

The most important thing leading up to your wedding day is taking care of your overall wellbeing. While your wedding day is one of the most special moments of your life, it can also be one of the most stressful, making it all the more important to take care of yourself. Move your body by planning out a fitness regime that works for you, enjoy a well-balanced diet - complete with many, many cheat days - and take time for yourself to do the things that make you happy. It’s also important to make sure you’re prioritizing quality time with your partner and that the two of you have discussions about important topics before the big day arrives.

There you have it: Your pre-wedding glow-uproutine. Now all that’s left to do is enjoy your wedding bliss with the person you get to spend the rest of your life with. Be sure to soak up every minute of it!
