Steph's Wedding in Encinitas
We had such a fun morning getting ready with Steph and some of her besties! I love the fact that because Steph has lived so many places that her friends sprinkled around the country came to support her on her wedding day. It’s such a brave thing to do - to never settle for something or somewhere that doesn’t feel right. I think that’s so badass of Steph to embody her life’s philosophy: to be carefree and at the same time determined to find where and who to spend your life with, and she did just that with Matt.
No matter where they roam, he will always be home.
We found each other through Steph’s photographer Steph, Sousa. I arrived the morning of with the crisp beach air to Light Church just blocks away from the beautiful Encinitas beaches. This church where she and Matt decided to get married is out of a Pinterest lover’s dream. From the gorgeous woodwork to the decor, this church has such a positive vibe and I totally get why they wanted to get married here.
“My favorite moment of our wedding day was the ceremony. I loved how intimate it was and getting to see all the people closest to my heart altogether,” shares Steph.
Her wedding ceremony was incredibly intimate and just so heartfelt. This is seriously the reason I love weddings. I love connecting with the Bride-to-be on such a personal level for one of the biggest days of their lives.

”Closer to the day of the wedding I had to stop looking at other peoples’ weddings. I found myself getting most anxious when I started comparing. So I had to stop that! And, whenever I started to get stressed about the wedding I would first have a good cry. I can’t and don’t believe in holding in any tears. Gotta get it out then I feel much better. I know I’m being true to myself that way and not having to be perfect. After the tears, I would grab a girlfriend and tell her all the feels. It’s better for me to say them out loud than keeping everything in my head. So cry, talk to a friend, and then remember what’s most important: getting to your best friend!” xo Steph

“Getting ready was so much fun! I’ve never felt more beautiful and comfortable. Dana was a dream! My wedding wouldn’t have been as smooth or chill without her there. She went above and beyond in her care/service for me and my friends. She was a great listener and encourager and incredibly helpful! She even ended up doing an extra hair look than what she originally signed up for to make sure everyone felt special! She was organized, quick, and calm the whole day and great at communicating beforehand. I love how ‘others focused’ Dana is and she’s all about making sure others feel loved and beautiful! Seriously thank you thank you thank you!! That day was better than I could have even imagined!”
