Irene's Wedding at Wolf Feather Honey Farm
“We knew the Ceremony site was going to be really amazing with all the sparkling lights against the night sky, so we decided we would have our first dance there. As soon as we were pronounced Husband and Wife, Louis Armstrong's "La Vie en Rose" began playing and we took our places.”
“Dancing with my love under the stars, in front of our friends and family, and with the paper moon as the backdrop, was definitely a very magical moment for me.”
“My favorite moment,” Irene recollects. “The first time Cem and I met was at a dance class, so we thought that choreographing our first dance was a nice nod to that bit of our relationship history.”
As a dancer all of my life I love watching her dance videos from fun classes in LA to her TikToks. I’m dying to join her for a class up there!
Irene, how did you maintain those #chillzilla vibes?
“We started the day with a group breakfast for all the people that were in the wedding party, which was super nice. I loved getting everyone together in the same room, nom-ing and smiling, and excited for what was ahead. I pulled some Oracle Cards while waiting to start hair and makeup, which helped me ground myself and set some intentions for the day. My mom was surprisingly chill, so that was great. And all of my friends were being absolute superstars! They were all attentive and supportive and always making sure that nobody was bothering me unnecessarily so that I could really sit back and bask in the glow of ‘Todays is The Day’ vibes. When we got to the wedding site, my sweet doggo was there waiting for us, which was the ultimate cherry on top!”
🌲 For Irene and Cem’s co-ed bach•chilla, we met them at their Air Bnb in Joshua Tree and pampered them with relaxing massages and a yoga class. It was such a high-vibe and beautiful weekend. Their friends brought a whole spread of musical instruments the night before for a sound healing meditation filled with didgeridoos, gongs, singing bowls, and more. What a way to clear out your energy so you can fill it up with joy as you embark on the rest of your life together. They are such a soulful couple. If you haven’t experienced a serious sound healing it’s truly incredible. You can feel the vibrational waves throughout your body. Highly recommend!
“The bowls, man, the bowls”.
My husband Jeff and I met for the first time at a sound healing! There is a rad philanthropic couple who plays a two-hour sound healing meditation right here in Oceanside, California. They transport all of their instruments into a yoga studio and then pack them up at the end of the session every Saturday night. Dedication. The husband is British and 70 years young. When we went back to tell them that we were getting married he said (in his British accent), “the bowls, man, the bowls”. So now Jeff and I love saying that to each other all the time lol.
Love notes from Irene
“I loved Karli and Carolina from Just Lago! They totally nailed the look I wanted for me and my bridesmaids, but they were also just really rad, lovely people. Being in the same ‘getting-ready’ room for multiple hours, you really need stylists who are gonna vibe with your crew - and they totally did. They fit right in with us,” Irene shares.
